I Miss You All!!!

It has been months of cancelled shows. This stinks! I miss each and every one of you so much. I miss playing music for you. It’s just not the same in my living room. I hope that that I can get out with you again soon. Speaking of which, if any of you need some entertainment for a private get-together, please get a hold of me. I would be honored to come and perform.

First… COVID-19. I was semi-understanding at first, and willing to try and understand the whole Stay-At-Home thing, but it’s clear that the situation has become more defined. I feel bad for the owners and employees of the venues I play. I am so sorry for what you are having to go through. Hundreds of people can enter Target and Menard’s, but y’all can’t have a single soul come and sit in your business. I am so sorry. Hang in there. For all of you that want to go out and hear some music, I’m right there with you. I sure hope things change soon.

Secondly, the events that started in my own Minneapolis a week ago. Wow. It is one of the saddest things that I have ever seen. A human being lost his life because someone that is supposed to protect us decided that he wanted to exercise his power over a helpless George Floyd. This is never okay. This should never happen again. God willing, this will stop future events like this from happening. To all of the peaceful protesters, my heart goes out to you. I pray that you are able to see the change you need to make a better life. To see what happened in the city following this event leaves me feeling sick inside. So many business owners (many are minorities) lost everything; their business, their life savings, and their life’s work. You don’t just put that back together. There are so many people hurting. Then you add in the anarchist instigators, whose rioting only exacerbated an already impossible situation and it will leave us rebuilding for a long time to come.

We all need something that pulls us all together. We need to come together as one. People need songs that define our times, that give us some temporary relief. Unfortunately, our voices will remain all but silent until the Governor allows the venues to make enough money to bring us back. I hope that I will finally get to see you all again soon. I miss you!!! (Did I mention that already?)
