Meet The Band!

So, in case you haven’t been on my email list or following me on the socials, I have been hard at work on a new album. The experience of this recording project has been amazing. Watching the songs go from my scratch demos to full-blown massive grooves has been super fulfilling, and I can already tell that I will be extremely proud of this one for a long time. Matt Patrick is producing and has such a good ear. I am so thankful. This is turning out to be a full-blown, rock n’ roll endeavor, and I love it!

I’m singing and playing guitar on the album, but I certainly didn’t do it alone. It’s finally time for all of you to meet the band that is making the record with me!

Guitars- Jasper Nephew: Jasper is an amazing guitar player that can come off sounding like three. He showed up with a pile of pedals (literally) and a rack of guitars, and has such good instincts on the perfect thing to play to make the song stronger. He is also the touring guitar player with Owl City.

Bass- Ian Allison: Back in my FTFE days, we occasionally shared the stage with Ian’s band, “Down And Above”. He is sooo good, and has such a great ear for the right sound and feel for each song. (One song even features a 12 string bass!) He writes catchy lines and was a perfect fit with the drummer (wait for it). He has been featured in Bass Musician Magazine and is the touring bass player for Eric Hutchinson and The Believers.

Drums- Steve Goold: Steve is a rock. I can’t say enough about him. The first song I threw at him had time changes from 4/4, to a measure of 3/4, to a measure of 6/4… and back. He handled it like he had been playing it for a long time. Welcome to the team!!! Steve has toured with Owl City and Sara Bareilles. He is currently touring with Mat Kearney.

All of these guys have pretty extensive lists of musicians they have recorded with, and I consider myself very fortunate to sit down and make music with them. Matt has done a masterful job orchestrating all of these powerhouse players. It has been so joyful to listen to this group breathe life into my songs.

I cannot wait for you to hear this!

Peace and love,
Jason
